Janine Merkl is an artist and graphic designer currently working in Vancouver, BC. She was born and raised in the prairies and went on to study Art History at the University of Alberta with a focus in early modernism. She then moved to Vancouver and studied at Emily Carr where she focused on photography and graphic design.
After many years working as a design lead and art director for global brands, she started to shift her creative energy into painting and it's taken hold as it's own full creative pursuit.
Her colourful and graphic work captures moments in time with meaningful objects, symbolism and story telling through patterns, table tops and still lifes.
